GROUNDED IN MY ROOTS
A life-impacting film that reminds us to reconnect with our ancestors so we can all learn how to decolonize our diets, reverse chronic illnesses and use the power of real food to heal our bodies and the planet.
As a chronic illness epidemic sweeps the nation, Nicolette Richer embarks on a cross-Canada run-and-cycle journey to raise profound awareness about what Indigenous peoples have always known: food is medicine. She discovers that the traditional knowledge of healing through our ancestral foodways has always been in her blood.
Watch the short documentary that shines a light on her African roots and how they've brought her where she is today: an advocate for using food as medicine and preparing to run and bike across Canada to spread her message.
